The Lillian Foreman Memorial Scholarship for Youth at Risk to be Exploited

The Lillian Foreman Memorial Scholarship for Youth at Risk to be Exploited is awarded annually to youth at risk of violence served in the Bay Area for tuition and supplies for college tuition, vocational services, business classes or high school equivalency testing. We are grateful to NCJW San Francisco past chair, Robin Brasso, for her generous donations to establish and support this scholarship!

This scholarship is administered annually in collaboration with local organizations serving youth at risk of violence and exploitation. The recipients are being selected among clients of these organizations.

2023 Scholarship Awards

On March 2nd, 2023, we held the Annual Teen Power Summit at the San Francisco Main Public Library, Koret Auditorium. At this event, we presented the Lillian Foreman Memorial Scholarship to clients of Justice At Last. The two scholarship awards were presented by NCJW Robin Brasso Social Justice Committee Co-Chair, Rachel Brasso, who is also Lillian Foreman’s granddaughter. José Heredia-Rodriguez, Client Advocate Program Manager of Justice At Last, was there to accept the two awards on behalf of the Justice At Last clients.


2022 Scholarship Awards

On February 16, 2022 we held virtually the Annual Teen Power Summit and Closing of the 2022 Awareness Campaign of SFCAHT. At this event, we presented the annual awards of the “Lillian Foreman Memorial Scholarship for Youth at Risk to be Exploited” to clients of 3Strands Global Foundation. The scholarship awards were presented by NCJW Robin Brasso Social Justice Committee Co-Chair, Rachel Brasso, Lillian Foreman’s granddaughter, to 3Strands Global Foundation’s San Francisco Employ + Empower Program Manager, Hira Zahir (featured in the photo).


2021 Scholarship Awards

On February 24, 2021, we gathered virtually for the Annual Teen Power Summit with students in middle and high school from across the Bay Area to exchange good practices in anti-trafficking advocacy and leadership and close the SFCAHT’s 2020 Awareness Campaign. At this memorable event, NCJW San Francisco presented the two annual awards of the “Lillian Foreman Memorial Scholarship for Youth at Risk to be Exploited” to clients of Love Never Fails. The scholarship awards were presented by NCJW Robin Brasso Social Justice Committee Co-Chair, Rachel Brasso, Lillian Foreman’s granddaughter, to Love Never Fails’s Executive Director, Vanessa Russell.


2020 Scholarship Awards

On February 29, 2020, at the closing event of the SFCAHT’s 2020 Awareness Campaign in the San Francisco War Memorial Veterans Building we presented awards of the annual “Lillian Foreman Memorial Scholarship for Youth at Risk to be Exploited” to two youth at risk of violence and exploitation, clients of the Justice At Last. The scholarship awards were presented by NCJW President and Scholarships Committee Co-Chair, Linda Kurtz, to Justice At Last’s Founder, Executive Director and Principal Attorney, Rose Mukhar.


2019 Scholarship Awards

On February 13, 2019, at the closing event of the SFCAHT’s 2019 Awareness Campaign in the San Francisco Main Public Library, Koret Auditorium, we presented two awards of the 2019 “The Lillian Foreman Memorial Scholarship for Youth at Risk to be Exploited” to two youth at risk of violence, clients of the Huckleberry Youth Program. The scholarship awards were presented by NCJW Executive Director, Antonia Lavine, to Huckleberry Advocacy and Response Team’s representative.


2018 Scholarship Awards

On February 22, 2018, at the closing event of the SFCAHT’s 2018 Awareness Campaign in the San Francisco Main Public Library, Koret Auditorium, we presented six awards of the 2018 “The Lillian Foreman Memorial Scholarship ” to the members of the Youth Advisory Board of the San Francisco Mayor’s Task Force on Anti-Human Trafficking. The scholarship awards were presented by the NCJW San Francisco Policy Chair, Robin Brasso, to Freedom FWD’s Co-Founder Natasha Dolby.


2017 Scholarship Awards

On February 13, 2017, at the closing event of the SFCAHT’s 2017 Awareness Campaign in the San Francisco Main Public Library, Koret Auditorium, we presented two awards of the 2017 “The Lillian Foreman Memorial Scholarship for Youth at Risk to be Exploited” to two youth, clients of Love Never Fails. The scholarship awards were presented by the NCJW San Francisco Policy Chair, Robin Brasso.


2016 Scholarship Awards

On February 10, 2016, at the closing event of the SFCAHT’s 2016 Awareness Campaign in the San Francisco Main Public Library, Koret Auditorium, we presented two awards of the 2016 “The Lillian Foreman Memorial Scholarship for Youth at Risk to be Exploited” to two youth clients of the Huckleberry Youth Program. The scholarship awards were presented by the NCJW San Francisco Policy Chair, Robin Brasso, to a representative of the Huckleberry Youth Program.


2015 Scholarship Awards

On August 27, 2015, we announced our newly created, “Lillian Foreman Memorial Scholarship for Youth at Risk to be Exploited.” Robin Brasso, daughter of Lillian Foreman, for whom the honor is named, presented two awards of this scholarship to youth served at Potrero Hill Neighborhood House in San Francisco. We are grateful to Robin Brasso for her generous donation to establish this scholarship!
